Chameleon Antenna Hybrid Mini BNC Portable Antenna Bases

Chameleon Antenna Hybrid Mini BNC Portable Antenna Bases feature a built-in 1:5 broadband matching transformer and a maximum power rating of 500W SSB, 100W CW, and 40W for high duty cycle digital modes. A 3/8-24in. threaded connector is included for mounting various antenna radiators, and a BNC female connector on the side for coaxial connection. The Hybrid Mini base also has a 3/8-24 in. stainless steel threaded bolt on the underside for grounding

Chameleon Antenna Hybrid Mini Portable HF Antenna systems are offered with different wire lengths, allowing for the setup of a broadband long-wire antenna without additional parts. Simply choose the variation that fits your needs. Additional wire lengths and accessories are available, making it ideal for experimenting, or optimizing your antenna setup. Radials are generally not required but can enhance the radiation characteristics depending on the configuration, and a tuner may be necessary for some bands and configurations.

Hybrid Mini Portable HF Antennas can be configured in different ways with many available accessories (sold separately):

- End-Fed Long-Wire Antenna: Using either 130, 60, or 30 feet of antenna wire, it’s possible to cover the entire 160m to 6m frequency range depending on the paired antenna wire and accessories used (sold Separately), making them perfect for apartments, balconies, roof mounts, and other restricted spaces. The wire can be hung in various shapes, such as a sloper, inverted "V", inverted "L", or zigzag.

- Portable Antenna: The Hybrid Mini Base can be used with most any 3/8-24 in. mobile whip, extensions, and wires to create a wide variety of portable antennas.

- Vertical Antenna: Ideal for limited spaces, the Hybrid Mini base can be combined with the Chameleon MIL Whip to create a vertical antenna for the 160m - 6m bands, with a total length of only 9.8ft. (3m).

- Dipole Antenna: The base is also suitable for connecting various dipole antennas. Connect one leg of the dipole to the 'hot end' of the Hybrid-Mini base and the other to the ground connection. Depending on the installation height and type, you can achieve either a steep radiation pattern or the typical dipole characteristic.
