Overview

Comet CK-3NMO Deluxe Mobile Mount Cable Assemblies

Comet CK-3NMO Deluxe Mobile Mount Cable Assemblies are designed for use in a 3/4 in. hole or with the RS-720NMO lip mount.

These CK-3NMO assemblies feature approximately 16.75 ft. (5 m) of coax cable, of which the first 18 in. is RG-174 Type for easy entry through your vehicle's weather seal. The 15.25 ft. of remaining cable after the RG-174 is low-loss mobile cable. They also feature a Teflon® insulator and a 24K gold-plated PL-259 center pin. These assemblies also include a detachable barrel for ease of routing, if needed.

A note about Comet coax:

"The mini coax is neither RG-188 nor RG-174… it is actually 1.5D-QEFV Japanese coax. Comet states it is 'RG-174 type' coax because they have similar loss and diameter specifications. Initially RG-188 was used in comparison but was changed to the RG-174 comparison because they are more similar. The balance of the coax is Japanese 3.5D-QEFV. There is no 'RG' equivalent to 3.5D-QEFV. RG-58 connectors will not fit the 3.5D-QEFV coax, the Comet coax has a larger outside diameter and a larger central core and has about 30 percent less loss than RG-58. All of the coax cables produced by Comet use the Comet (Japanese) low loss coax. Mick Stwertnik - NCG Company"

Max power for Comet CK-3NMO coax cable assemblies:

* 25 MHz: 200 W
* 140 MHz: 70 W
* 440 MHz: 45 W

These power ratings are due to the use of mini coax to allow convenient installation.

If you need to pass through a weather seal near the end of your mobile coax run, order one of these Comet CK-3NMO Deluxe Mobile Mount Cable Assemblies from DX Engineering!
