Overview

DX Engineering 6M Add-On Kit for a 3-Element HF Yagi

DX Engineering 6M Add-On Kit for a 3-Element HF Yagi was devised by Joel Hallas, W1ZR (SK) as detailed in the linked QST article from 2011. This is a 3-element hardware kits designed to be added onto an existing 3 element triband* or monoband HF beam. Unlike other add-on kits that use clear polycarbonate, these kits include black polymer plastic for the construction of the plates.

* NOTE: This 6 meter band add-on kit was tested by the author on a simple three element trap beam, similar to what was made by Hy-Gain, Mosley and Cushcraft. It is not compatible with interlaced-element multiband beams, including but not limited to Skyhawk, Optibeam, Momobeam, Force 12, etc.

These kits include:

* Six 6 ft. x 0.375 in. x 0.058 in. aluminum tubes, 6063-T832 drawn, no slits
* Three 3 ft. x 0.500 in. x 0.058 in. aluminum tubes, 6063-T832 drawn, one end slit
* Six V-saddle clamps, 1-2 in. outside diameter applications
* Six element clamps for 0.500 in. and smaller tubes
* Two 0.250 in. x 7.50 in. x 11.50 in. plate, polymer plastic, blank (sufficient to make four insulator plates)
* Six 1/2 in. stainless steel saddle clamps, 1/4 in. U-bolt thread size
