DX Engineering RG-8X Hi-Viz Orange 50-ohm RF Choke Coaxial Cable Assemblies

DX Engineering RG-8X Hi-Viz Orange 50-ohm RF Choke Coaxial Cable Assemblies are the most flexible and lowest loss high-quality coaxial cable assemblies on the market. Assembled with fifteen Mix -31 ferrite beads under weather-sealed heat shrink, these DXE-8XV cables offer RF choking to reduce RFI and improve current balance on antennas. These flexible assemblies feature a stranded copper 16 AWG center conductor, gas injected foam dielectric, braided copper shield and non-contaminating, highly water-resistant Type II-A PVC UV stable direct-bury jacket. Our DXE-8XV High Visibility Orange cable assemblies are intended for HF portable applications where the visibility of short antenna cables and flexibility are desired.

RG-8X High Visibility Orange 50-ohm Coaxial Cable Assemblies are terminated with high quality silver plated PTFE dielectric PL-259 (UHF male connectors. Their machine-crimped shields feature 360 degrees of complete mechanical and electrical contact for maximum reliability. All DX Engineering Cable Assemblies are Hi-Pot tested and heat-shrink weather-sealed for the ultimate in service longevity.

The end of these cable assemblies with the ferrite bead choke should be connected to a grounded protector or to the radio, especially when used on End Fed Half-Wave or non-resonant antennas and random wires, and some verticals. They are also used at feed point of a dipole or Yagi antenna. Many installations can benefit from the use of an RF Choke Coaxial Cable Assembly, such as isolating the coaxial cable from a remotely tuned antenna system for improved performance.

DX Engineering DXE-8XV Orange Jacket Coax has the same industry standard specifications as DXE-8X black jacket coax. DXE-8X is the coax cable most often used for jumpers in the shack and for medium length cables for portable operations, offering significantly better flexibility than larger cables, excellent shielding, and lower loss than smaller RG-58 and RG-174.

DXE-8XV is the part number for this coaxial cable sold by the foot, and it is available in 1,000 ft. spools as DXE-8XV-1000.
