DX Engineering High Impedance Common Mode RF Choke Kits

DX Engineering High Impedance Common Mode RF Choke Kits allow the antenna builder to install the best type of choke for phased array antennas, to prevent phase errors that are caused by ineffective coiled coax chokes and inline chokes. These kits include large ferrite toroid beads are 0.500 inch inside diameter (ID) to be placed over your 0.405 in. coaxial cable. The supplied heat-shrink tubing secures the toroid beads in place and provides weather protection for the ferrite. They are installed at the antenna feedpoint end of the coaxial cable or phasing feedline before installing a coaxial connector, if one is used. Also excellent for single antennas, the application of the proper number of these large ferrite beads to the coax cable forms an excellent, high-impedance RF choke for low HF frequencies from 1.8 - 30 MHz.

DX Engineering High Impedance Common Mode RF Choke Kits have the correct quantity and mix of ferrite that stops stray RF the outside shield of the feedline. They prevent tuning problems, interference, erroneous meter readings and improper operation of equipment. These kits are strongly recommended for all feedlines, especially those that are run above ground, and are essential for elevated feedpoint antenna arrays.


There are two kits to choose from, based on the antenna frequency. The DXE-RFC-160-20 provides 40 beads for incredible choking effectiveness on antennas from 1.8 to 15 MHz, and the DXE-RFC-20-10 has 30 beads for phenomenal performance on antennas from 14 to 30 MHz. Make your own RF choked feedline cables for four squares, phased array or single antennas using either 75-ohm RG-11U or 50-ohm RG-213/RG-8U size cables. DX Engineering High Impedance Common Mode RF Choke Kits are also perfect for building excellent chokes for single feedline antennas as well as for use on almost any wire or cables where RFI suppression is required.
