Overview
DX Engineering Stainless Steel Telescopic Whips
DX Engineering Stainless Steel Telescopic Whips combine rugged durability, corrosion-resistant stainless-steel construction, and a compact collapsible design. Engineered for portable HF operation, these versatile whips are ideal for POTA, SOTA, DXpeditions, EMCOMM, and other field deployments, delivering reliable performance wherever your operating adventures take you.
DX Engineering Stainless Steel Telescopic Whips are available in two lengths:
DXE-SSTWHIP17: 17-foot extended length (24 in. collapsed)
Band Coverage: 20 – 6 meters standalone and 40 – 6 meters with a loading coil
DXE-SSTWHIP25: 25-foot extended length (26.5 in. collapsed)
Band Coverage: 30 – 6 meters standalone and 40 – 160 meters with a loading coil
Featuring premium telescopic sections and a standard 3/8-24in. mounting stud, these whips integrate easily with a wide range of antenna mounts and accessories. They are well-suited for building portable and base-station antennas, including multi-band dipoles (using two whips), verticals, and other custom HF antenna configurations.
For enhanced durability, both models utilize an oversized base section for added strength. The 17-foot whip has a 0.630 in. maximum tube diameter and a 0.740 in. base diameter. The 25-foot whip has a 0.786 in. maximum tube diameter and a 0.895 in. base diameter.
Rated for 1,000 watts PEP, DX Engineering Stainless Steel Telescopic Whips offer an exceptional balance of portability, strength, and performance. Whether you're activating a remote summit, operating from a park, or assembling a lightweight field station, these whips provide the versatility and reliability trusted by portable HF operators.
Important: Due to their extended length, these whip antennas should always be properly guyed. When using a tripod mount, ensure the tripod is adequately weighted or anchored to provide safe, stable operation and prevent tipping.
