MFJ 1756s offer a DC grounded radiator and a ground-isolated radial system for improved performance. A rugged low-impedance, air-insulated matching stub provides convenient adjustment of base impedance (a normal ground plane is much less than 50 ohms), allowing for adjustment to a perfect 1:1 SWR. These antennas will also handle up to 1,000 watts CW! Their improved radiation will reach out for those distant repeaters or DX stations.
