4O3A Band Data to BCD Decoders converts band data from a transceiver into BCD format for controlling devices like Antenna Genius or other BCD-addressed equipment. It features multiple input and output options including RS-232, CI-V, and ICOM Band-Control, making it compatible with a wide range of transceivers and peripherals. Configuration is done via the free downloadable Windows application CAT2BCD software, where users select the transceiver model and set the baud rate and parity. Once configured, the device stores settings in EEPROM and can operate independently from a PC. Status LEDs on the front panel indicate power, BCD output activity, and interface status.

On the input side, the decoder includes an RS-232 DB9 male connector, a CI-V socket (3.5 mm stereo) for connecting the CI-V output of an ICOM transceiver, and an ICOM Band-Control socket (2.5 mm mono) for connecting the band voltage output, typically from the "ACC 2" port of ICOM transceivers. A USB socket on the front panel is used for computer connection, and the device operates on a supply voltage of 12–15 VDC.
