Overview
OM Power OM-3501A HF Automatic Tune Linear Amplifiers (OMR-OM-3501A) features one Ceramic Tetrode GU78B tube capable of providing stable, full legal limit output power plus on any mode in the Amateur bands from 1.8 to 29.7MHz. CW ops will enjoy QSK (full break-in) with a silent T/R vacuum relay. The intuitive 4.3-inch color Touch Screen and front panel indicators allow you to stay informed about the operational status of the amplifier and effortlessly gain access to advanced features and settings. The OM Power OM-3501A is a self-contained 1500W++ HF automatic tune amplifier with a high performance double-transformer power supply. Also built-in is direct LAN Internet Remote Control capability (details below).
The OM Power OM-3501A HF Automatic Tune Amplifier is fully compatible with direct serial port CAT-COM or CI-V Interfacing to vitually any modern transceiver for automated band changing, with CAT-COM RS-232 pass-through to a station computer.
Full compatibility with
- ICOM
- YAESU
- ELECRAFT
- Ten-Tec Orion
- Kenwood
- Icom transceive protocol using by microHAM devices – CI-V output (MK II, MK2R, MK2R+, etc)
- Flex Radio Series 6xxx
- Apache Labs Anan
RF sensitive Band and Frequency switching, for use with radios that do not have CAT
Automatic switching between bands
Automatic tuning with the band according to segments
Automatic switching of band pass filter – BAND DATA output compatible with YAESU radios (BCD code)
Automatic switching of the antenna switches - maximum number of antennas is 10, controlled by BCD output code
Remote control via PC Windows Application
The OM Power OMR-OM-3501A Amplifier features an arsenal of protection circuits that will guard against high SWR, excessive current, voltage errors, excessive temperatures and more. A mechanical safety switch provides “switch-on” blocking and protects the user from potential hazards by not allowing the amplifier to power on when the case is opened. These amplifiers are also equipped with safety devices to ensure that the output relay is not mistakenly switched under power (hot switching). Built-in Memory for faults and warnings makes troubleshooting a breeze and helps to quickly identify issues and resolve them, ensuring uninterrupted performance. With built-in Automatic Anode Current (BIAS) Adjustment, there is no need to make complicated manual adjustments in the unlikely event that the tube needs to be replaced.
The 2-speed centrifugal blower and external axial fan provides the necessary cooling of the amplifier, even during long contests. The blower is activated by switching the PA on and it is turned off when cooling is finished (approx. 1-5 min after switching off the PA depending on the temperature of the tube) and the blower is programmable to 3 different working modes. Transporting the OM-3501A is made easier with HV transformers that are removable to reduce the weight of the amplifier chassis and to prevent shipping damage.
Feature Highlights:
High level of protection
Full QSK with silent T/R vacuum relay
Many operational parameters on display
Three programmable working modes of the axial blower
Memory for faults and warning, easy maintenance
Automatic set-up anode current (BIAS) – no need to adjust manually after changing the tube
Easy transport with the removable HV transformers

Power amplifier is interfaced to LAN via XPORT made by Lantronix (type XP1001000-05R). More info can be found at www.lantronix.com .
Default factory settings of XPORT are:
IP address: 192.168.1.222 Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.1.1
These are strictly default settings. You can modify any of these by going to XPORT web GUI via your web browser. We do not recommend changing any other parameters of the XPORT interface as loss of communication can be caused by doing so. There is no default user name or password. It is highly recommended to secure web interface with username and password.
For remote control and monitoring over LAN special software is needed. It is available free of charge; it can be downloaded from the OM3501A product page at om-power.com.
NOTE: For the correct functioning of the software, it is necessary to have accessible LAN ports 9999 and 10001.
