Pixel Technologies AM-2 Amplified Shielded Magnetic Loop Antennas

Pixel Technologies AM-2 amplified shielded magnetic loop antennas use a design long recognized by professional broadcast engineers, the military, and serious amateur radio operators as the ideal solution for medium-wave reception with a relatively small antenna.

These antennas take advantage of the fact that radio waves consist of two components, an electrostatic field (E-wave) and a weaker magnetic field (or H-wave). They're optimized to respond to the magnetic H-field component of the received signals, while shielded from the electrostatic E-wave component of the received electromagnetic wave. Since most local interference has a large electrostatic E-wave component, they're exceptionally effective at reducing this kind of interference.

Their internal low-noise preamplifier is an extremely wide dynamic range differential type with exceptionally low inter-modulation distortion in the presence of high-level signals. The amplifier is powered via an included 12 V DC power supply and is optimized for maximum gain in the 500 kHz -1700 kHz AM spectrum.

AM-2s include an L-bracket fixture for mounting to poles up to two inches in diameter. All required mounting accessories are included. They are compatible with standard RG-6 cable and F-Type connectors. Constructed of high-strength 0.750 in. inch aluminum tubing, they're capable of withstanding winds over 100 mph!
