Overview
Alpha Antenna Low Profile Lite HF Base Vertical Antennas
Alpha Antenna Low Profile Lite HF Base Vertical Antennas cover the 10 to 80 meters amateur bands and are considered the ‘lite’ version of the ProMaster Heavy Duty HF Base Vertical Antenna. This antenna system features an easy-to-deploy telescopic stainless-steel whip, which can be retracted when winds of more than 50MPH are expected.
The total length of the 17.75ft. vertical whip and the 25.25ft. horizontally sloped element equals the magic number of 43ft., a length used by many excellent systems for multi-band HF antenna operation from 80 to 10 meters. The last element is an 8ft. grounded counterpoise wire, which completes the circuit by creating a static drain for noise, making it easier to hear other stations.
Key Features
Telescopic Stainless-Steel Element: Easy to deploy and retractable in high winds.
Multi-Band Coverage: Operates 80 to 10 meters.
Total Antenna Length: 43ft. when combining vertical and horizontally sloped elements.
Grounded Counterpoise Wire: Provides a static drain for noise reduction.
Robust Design: Suitable for permanent outdoor installations.

Specifications
Frequency Coverage: 3.5 to 30MHz
Band Coverage: 80 - 10m
Power Rating: 250W PEP SSB, 125W CW, or 25W Digital Modes
Note: The MIL-STD-188 M110a digital communications mode is rated at bursts of 100W digital for up to 1 minute using the MIL-STD Data Modem Terminal (MS-DMT) and Automated Message Terminal (AMT) software applications.
Installation: The Alpha Antenna Low Profile Lite HF Base Vertical Antenna system can be installed in a few easy steps:
Step 1 – Either install the Match on a wood fence post/plank using four screws by removing the included 1.25in. mast mount adapter, alternatively install the HF antenna on your 1.25in. mast.
Step 2 – Place the 25ft. horizontal wire and vertical element on the top bolt of the Base Alpha Auto Match Unit, then deploy and attach the 8ft. grounded counterpoise wire on the bottom bolt of the Base Alpha Match. The 8ft. grounded counterpoise wire should be run in the direction you would like your signal to launch. The 25ft. horizontal wire should then be run in the opposite direction.
Step 3 – Push the stake on the 25ft. horizontal wire and the 8ft. ground wire and into the ground.
Step 4 – Screw the 17.75ft.Vertical whip onto the top bolt on the auto matching unit, then fully extend it.
Step 5 – Attach your coaxial feedline from your tuner to the SO-239 on the match.
* NOTE – When not in use or when winds are greater than 50MPH then the vertical element should be retracted.
