Overview

Bioenno Power BLF-1230A LiFePO4 Batteries

Bioenno Power BLF-1230A LiFePO4 Batteries are state-of-the-art 12 VDC 30 Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries that are the entry-level unit of Bioenno Power's high-power 12V battery line. The BLF-1230A was designed for more stationary applications and higher power consumption portable electronics requiring a higher capacity and greater power output battery while reliably providing excellent performance over an extended service life. The integrated PCM (Protection Circuit Module) provides complete internal cell balancing and management, protection from over current, under voltage (over-discharge), over-voltage, and short-circuiting, and includes integrated charging circuitry. Enjoy quiet EMI/RFI (Electromagnetic Interference/Radio-Frequency Interference) free performance, order a Bioenno Power BLF-1230A LiFePO4 Battery from DX Engineering.

Note:

  • This battery should be charged using a LiFePO4 compatible charger. SLA battery chargers are NOT compatible.

Tech Tip from Bioenno Regarding Battery Label Specs.

Frequently Asked Question: “I noticed the Max and Peak Continuous Discharge on the battery label may be different from the website and why?

Answer: The printed label may be rated to 1C Max Continuous or 2C peak.”

Bioenno batteries have different size circuit boards installed in order to ensure the battery can deliver the 2,000 to 3,000 charge cycles.

BIP-BLF-1230A - Features a 40 Amp Circuit board (that can surge to 60 Amps for 2 seconds)

The de-rating on the label to 1C (or 1 x Capacity) is mentioned to ensure the battery can deliver more than 2,000 to 3,000 cycles. However, rest assured for those batteries over 12Ah, they can deliver the 23 Amps (for 100W PEP transmission) for your ham radio equipment which has a duty cycle of 20% transmit and 80% receive. If you operate continuous at the 2C (or 2 x Capacity of the battery) discharge (with no duty cycle), the cycle life is a bit less to about 1,800 to 2,000 cycles instead of 2,000 to 3,000 cycles.
