Overview
DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Switches
DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Switches are newly designed to combine two identical Yagi or log periodic beams, or three quarter-wave vertical antennas, into a phased array for enhanced operation. There is no need for coaxial delay lines with the DX Engineering PRO-STACK switches. Just connect your antennas to the phasing switch controller with equal-length 50 ohm lines. PRO-STACK switch units are available with high-quality PTFE-silver plated SO-239 (UHF female) connectors. These relay units are 1-of-3 source voltage controlled at 12-15VDC over a four conductor cable. A matching Control Console is available separately or is included in the PRO-STACK System.
These phasing switches can be used for any applications that require the following four basic antenna feed selections: both antenna ports in-phase, both antenna ports out-of-phase, antenna port 1 only, and antenna port 2 only. The default is both output ports in-phase. Impedance matching automatically changes when any antenna port is disconnected. Generally, stacked Yagi antennas are separated vertically greater than 1/2-wavelength free space.
Since the DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Systems are broadband, they may be easily adapted to larger arrays. For example, four stacked Yagis may be combined by creating two sets of two, and then using a third DX Engineering control console to combine the first two sets.
PRO-STACK switches can also be used to feed three quarter wave resonant vertical antennas for a high-gain 4-pattern array. In this arrangement, the center #2 passive element is directly grounded to a good ground radial system at all times, while the end elements #1 and #3 are then fed in various phase relationships by the PRO-STACK.
Details are in the complete PRO-STACK PS-2B Instruction Manual linked here in Documentation.
