DX Engineering RR8B-SD Remote Antenna Switches

DX Engineering RR8B-SD Remote Antenna Switches are the highest power handling antenna switches in the DX Engineering RR8 Series. Think of them as Super Duty. They are designed to switch up to 8 coaxial lines in high-power RF systems.

RR8B-SD switches use enclosed RF-rated relays with exceptional RF voltage and current capability to provide reliable, long-term performance. DX Engineering RR8B-SD switches may be used as conventional one-of-eight antenna switches or configured to simultaneously select multiple output ports, allowing for use in complex antenna phasing and stacking systems.

RR8B-SD switches use removable screw-terminal control cable plugs that greatly simplify installation by eliminating the need for disassembly or soldering to wire the control lines. These remote relay boxes are custom-made on a revised stainless steel chassis with integral mounting bracket flange, and include a special RF-shielded high-impact thermoplastic cover. There is also a custom conductive gasket to complete the seal between the cover and stainless steel housing base. A DX Engineering V-Bolt Saddle Clamp is included to mount the RR8B-HP on any tower leg or pipe sized from 1 to 2 in. outside diameter.

RR8B-SD Remote Antenna Switches feature:

* Fully shielded, high impact thermoplastic enclosure, stainless steel mounting bracket, and hardware
* Excellent port isolation; greater than 60 dB at 30 MHz, worst case
* Power Rating: Greater than 10 kW in normal amateur operation on all modes when using antennas with less than 2:1 SWR on 30 MHz and below. Greater than 5 kW above 30 MHz
* High-RF tolerant, Amphenol UHF female, SO-239 connectors
* Lightning protection on control lines
* Shorted or open selection of unused antenna ports
* Custom sealed 30 ampere high-voltage RF relays
* Solderless removable plug for easy installation of control line with no disassembly
* Safe 12V DC relay operation
* Reliable operation in all weather extremes
