DX Engineering Heavy Duty Pivot Bases are high strength, high performance tilt bases, for your vertical antennas built with three inch base sections, and for mounting onto your concrete anchored steel mounting pipe.

Now available separately for your antenna systems, these are the same rugged pivot base assemblies that are included with DX Engineering's 55 foot tall verticals, the 80/40 Meter model DXE-8040VA-1, and the 160 Meter model DXE-160VA-1.

The optional DXE-VRW-1 Manual Winch may be added so one person may easily raise and lower your vertical antenna. You can move the DXE-VRW-1 winch between similar antennas in a multi-antenna installation, perfect for phased arrays! These pivoting fixtures are just what you need for making quick and easy antenna changes and adjustments, or for stowing your antenna masterpiece, either for stealth or when unusually high winds are forecast.

DX Engineering Heavy Duty Pivot Base systems require a customer supplied heavy duty mounting pipe, up to 3 in. O.D. Recommended installation is for your heavy wall galvanized steel pipe to be set in concrete. Schedule 80 pipe that is known as 2-1/2 in., which has an outside diameter of 2.875 in., is recommended. Your mounting pipe or equivalent 3.000 in. steel tubing should be a minimum of 80 in. in length, extending above its concrete base level by 36 in. The depth of your mounting hole and amount of concrete is dependent on your antenna design, local soil type and antenna guying.
