These units deliver a full 65W of stable RF output across the 144–148 MHz transmit range and offer wideband receive coverage from 136–174MHz, ensuring flexible monitoring across the VHF spectrum. A large integrated heatsink maintains consistent performance during extended transmissions, while the bright white backlit display enhances readability in both daytime and low‑light environments.

Audio performance is a strong point, with the internal speaker producing 4.5W of clear, articulate output thanks to improved frequency response and a more open acoustic path. Quick-access loud/mute functions make level adjustments immediate and built‑in emergency call and alert features transmit alternating tones and live microphone audio while sounding a local alarm through the speaker.

Operational tools include 207 memory channels, CTCSS/DTCS, dynamic bank link scanning, weather‑channel reception (USA version), priority watch, power‑supply voltage display, and durable MIL‑STD‑810G construction.
