MFJ 854 RF Current Meters

MFJ-854 RF Current Meters read true RF current! They accurately measure actual RF currents flowing in antenna elements, radials, ground wires, and on the outside of coax feed-lines. Use them to study and optimize your antennas for peak performance!

They're also great for tracking down RFI-causing currents on household wiring and cables. Their sense coil simply snaps over wires and cables for fast measurements. Results appear directly on their easy-to-read meter. You may select from five ranges to measure actual RF-current from 30 mA to 3 A full-scale.

A sixth range has a variable sensitivity control for quick, fast checks. At maximum sensitivity, RF currents of 1 mA or less will yield a usable meter deflection. This function is especially useful for tracking RFI pickup on household wiring and cables. The MFJ-854s are sensitive enough to use an MFJ SWR Analyzer as the source to drive your antennas.

Here are some important features:

* Linearity compensation circuitry assures accuracy, especially at low RF currents
* Measure RF current from as little as 1 mA to 3 amps in six ranges
* Accurate from 1-MHz to 30-MHz and beyond
* Sense coil has minimal effect on circuits under test
* Accepts cables up to approximately 0.500 in. diameter
* Press-to-test power circuit turns unit off automatically after 15 seconds
* Meter draws 3-mA battery's service life approaches shelf-life
* Built to last with a sturdy all-aluminum case and G-10 PC board
* Handheld size: 2.3W, 1.6D, 6.5H, including sense coil
* Weighs just 11 oz.
* Requires 9 V battery, not included

Are you suspicious of your antenna performance? Do you wonder where that RFI is coming from? Would you like to map your antenna's efficiency? Do all of that, and more, with one of these handy MFJ-854 RF Current Meters now available from DX Engineering!
