Overview
PXdragon DR-9400 PACTOR Modems are the most advanced and powerful devices of their kind in the world, delivering efficient and reliable HF and VHF email and data communications for amateur, maritime, commercial and emergency applications. As the latest generation of the DR series, the DR-9400 continues the evolution of proven professional PACTOR technology for global radio communications where dependable data connectivity is essential.
WHEN COMMUNICATION MATTERS, RELIABILITY IS THE ONLY THING THAT COUNTS.
Developed by SCS and distributed by WiMo, the PXdragon DR-9400 supports PACTOR-1/-2/-3 and PACTOR-4, Packet Radio and APRS with 1200 bps AFSK and 9600 bps G3RUH and Robust Packet Radio. Reception modes such as Weather-FAX (RX) and RTTY (RX) and an integrated PACTOR monitor expand the range of applications. Its compact design makes the DR-9400 ideal for stationary and portable operation—perfect for email messaging, file synchronization, telemetry, or APRS beaconing. Modern signal processing, versatile interfaces, and robust protocols make the PXdragon DR-9400 a reliable solution for data-oriented radio operation, even in poor propagation conditions. Pre-assembled cables for common transceivers are ready for easy installation, and unterminated cables are available for customized interfacing solutions.
Choose between two versions: - PXN-DR-9400 Standard model, or - PXN-DR-9400-BTWF with a WiFi and Bluetooth Dongle and license key.
Select the appropriate premade Control Interface Cable and Audio Interface Cables listed in "Recommended Parts" that match your HF or VHF transceiver for faster connections for PACTOR mode operations.

PACTOR is a modern digital transmission method for shortwave (HF), developed for reliable communication even under the most difficult conditions. Even with weak or disturbed signals, PACTOR enables stable data connections – ideal for email, text, telemetry, or file transfer, without the need for the internet. This technology was developed by SCS (Special Communications Systems) in Germany and is considered the global standard for professional HF data transmission.
Advantages with PACTOR
Maximum data security and stability on HF
Global coverage without the internet or satellite
Plug-and-play operation with common transceivers
Secure data transmission through optional encryption
Compatible with Winlink mail systems
