SOTAbeams LASERBEAM DSP Filter Modules
SOTAbeams LASERBEAM DSP Filter Modules work much better at reducing QRM than mechanical or analog filters. SOTAbeams applies special algorithm-based software to create well-defined passbands with steep contours.
SOTAbeams offers their General Purpose, CW and SSB filter modules with switchable passbands. For example, the CW module (SBM-LB-MODULE-CW) may be used with either a 550 to 850 Hz passband, or a wider 300 to 1300 Hz passband. You choose the passband based on your own band conditions.
Their SSB module (SBM-LB-MODULESSB) features passbands of either 300 to 2700 Hz or 300 to 2400 Hz. SOTAbeams designers have determined that these passbands work very well for SSB voice filtering.
They offer their General Purpose filter module (SBM-LB-MODULE-GP) to accommodate both CW and SSB. These modules have selectable passbands of 550 to 850 Hz and also 300 to 2700 Hz. In this way you may limit CW or SSB QRM that is outside the selected audio passband.
Be advised that these modules are NOT of the plug-in style. To use them takes some knowledge and soldering skill. You will also have to add an enclosure, if desired, as well as external parts not supplied with the PCBs.
As designed, these modules will drive typical "low power" earbuds all by themselves. They will also drive audio amplifiers or amplified speakers.
