Sangean PR-D17 Portable Radio for Visually Impaired was designed specifically for radio enthusiasts with a visual impairment and includes voice prompts and large yellow buttons and knobs with raised symbols for easy identification. Each button pressed is followed by a voice prompt to guide the user through each step of radio operation such as station browsing, alarm clock setting, radio station information, time and other settings. The Sangean PR-D17 does not just make sound, it speaks 6 different languages! Choose between English, Spanish, German, Dutch, French, or Swedish.
The Large and easy-to-read backlit LCD display highlights RDS information, reception, frequency strength, battery and alarm symbols. The PR-D17 boasts excellent radio reception with its built-in 200mm AM ferrite bar antenna and external FM telescopic antenna. Two, 2.5 in. full-range speakers offer the listener an outstanding stereo audio experience and 10 station presets (5 AM, 5 FM) allow the user to save their favorites.
The Sangean PR-D17 features two alarm timers with snooze that will wake you to the radio station of your choice or a buzzer to make sure you are not late for work and the HWS (Humane Waking System) starts the buzzer or radio alarm output with a soft, low volume and then gradually increases. The adjustable sleep timer comes in handy and will power off the radio after a preset time has elapsed.
