ACOM 04AT Remote Antenna Tuners
ACOM 04AT Remote Antenna Tuners are designed to work exclusively with the ACOM solid-state amplifier models 600S, 700S, 1200S and 2020S. They can manually, semi-automatically or automatically* select one of four available antenna outputs (assignable) and adjusts the impedance of the chosen antenna output by matching it below 1.5:1, (typically below 1.3), providing optimum load impedance. *Fully automated operation requires a CAT, COM or CI-V frequency (not band data) reading interface cable between the transceiver and amplifier. Features: * Designed for installation in a shack or outdoors * Powered and controlled directly from an ACOM solid state HF+6m amplifier through the amplifier RF output coax * Provides automatic or manual antenna change and matching to ACOM solid state HF + 6m amplifiers. Controlled from the amplifier front panel and optional transceiver CAT, COM or CI-V interface cable. * Guards the amplifier against excessive impedance mismatch during the tuning process. * Operates with two types of tuning: full tuning (basic matching cycle) and fast tuning (from nonvolatile memory * Full tuning is automated , only when the cycle is initiated ly by the operator, to prevent retuning during operations. *BYPASS mode is also available * Antennas appear with a number, type, and user-editable name on the ACOM solid state amplifier's screen * Tuning availability is presented on the amplifier's screen * Protections: PS voltage, Reverse PS polarity, Excessive RF voltage, RF current or reflected power at the antenna outputs, Excessive tuning power, Excessive Input power, Hot switching of relays, Overheating etc. * Protected against static electricity in the antennas via bleeding resistors and close lightning strikes via gas-filled discharge; unused antennas are directly grounded Specifications: * Frequency coverage: 1.8 to 30 MHz and 50 to 54 MHz * Guaranteed impedance matching capability: 16 to150 Ohms; SWR of 3:1 Maximum RF Input power by SWR; average or continuous without mode limitation; in parenthesis (PEP): * At SWR below 2:1; 1,500W (1,500W PEP) * At SWR between 2 and 3:1; 1,200W (1,500W PEP) * At SWR between 3 and 5:1; (provided matching is possible): 700W (1,000W PEP) * At SWR between 5 and 10:1; (provided matching is possible): 350W (500W PEP) RF Input characteristics: * Nominal impedance: 50-Ohm unbalanced; * Connector type: UHF/PTFE (SO-239A); * Input SWR during full tuning (basic matching cycle): below 1.8:1 * Input SWR soon after full tuning: less than 1.5 (below 1.3:1 typ.) Antenna output characteristics: * Nominal impedance: 50-Ohm unbalanced * Connector type: UHF/PTFE (S0239A) * Number of outputs: 4 Full tuning (basic matching cycle): * Below 10 MHz: less than 5s (2-3s typ.) * Above 10 MHz: less than 3s (1-2s typ.) * RF Input power required during full tuning: 25W plus/minus 3 dB (12.5 to 50 watt), continuous mode * Fast tuning duration: less than 50ms (from nonvolatile memory). Coaxial cable maximum length (same for RF power, DC power supply, and control): - 61 m (200 ft.) for cable type RG-58; 305 m (1000 ft.) for cable type RG-213 - Size and mass 20.1 x 15.8 x H 11.8 in.; 15.43 lbs. NOTICE: As of early 2023, the factory installed firmware in the ACOM 2020S supports operation of ACOM 04AT or 06AT Automatic Antenna Tuners. Foe earlier production of the 2020S, all firmware updates are the responsibility of the owner, not DX Engineering or ACOM. Refer to the latest 2020S User Manual at acom-bg.com.
