Davis Instruments Integrated Sensor Suites

Davis Instruments Integrated Sensor Suites (ISS) are the heart of any Davis weather station. The ISS detects wind, temperature, rain, humidity, and all of the other basic weather details you need. Whether it' a Vantage Pro2 ISS or a Vantage Vue ISS, you'll capture your local weather. Vantage Pro2 Integrated Sensor Suites are compatible with Vantage Vue and Vantage Pro2 consoles, Weather Envoy, Envoy8X, and Vantage Connect. You may also add optional Solar Radiation and UV Radiation sensors to the Vantage Pro2 ISS. Vantage Pro2 Integrated Sensor Suites are available in cabled and wireless versions. Davis Instruments Sensor Transmitter Kits

Davis Instruments sensor transmitter kits for their wireless Vantage Pro2 console allow you to place the anemometer that was included with your Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS) anywhere within wireless range of your Vantage Pro2 console. These transmitters communicate directly with your wireless Vantage Pro2 console/receiver over any one of eight user-selectable ID codes. These transmitter kits are solar-powered with a battery backup and have a transmitting range of between 200 to 1,000 ft. (75 to 300 m), depending upon the environment. When you have a great location for your Vantage Pro2 ISS but are not sure that your anemometer is in "clean wind," or if you just want a different anemometer location, order one of your own Davis Instruments Sensor Transmitter Kits from DX Engineering and solve that problem.

Davis Instruments UV Radiaton Sensors

Davis Instruments UV radiation sensors measure the portion of the UV spectrum to which human skin is sensitive and is known to cause sunburns. These sensors allow you to display the UV index, dose rate, and daily and accumulated doses. A special multi-layer filter provides a UV spectral response that closely matches the Erythema Action Spectrum. An included diffuser provides excellent cosine response, resulting in higher accuracy regardless of the solar angle. Their 2-piece housing minimizes radiation heating, allows for convection cooling of the sensor, and prevents the trapping of water or dust. These sensors include 2 ft. (0.6 m) of cable for mounting to the ISS. To mount one of these UV sensors next to a rain collector, add the Sensor Mounting Shelf (not included). If you or a loved one is sensitive to UV due to nature or prescriptions, or perhaps are a skin-cancer patient, then one of these Davis UV Radiation Sensors, coupled with a Vantage Pro2 weather station, could provide greater value than you might imagine.

Davis Instruments Radiation Shields

Davis Instruments radiation shield kits add an extra level of accuracy to your weather station by reducing the effects of direct and reflected solar radiation. They're a great addition to your Vantage Pro2 or Pro2 Plus weather station. They are also available for Davis Wireless Temperature Stations. These fan-aspirated radiation shields combine active and passive aspiration to minimize the effects of radiation. A solar-powered fan operates during the day and then shuts down at night when the effects of radiation are lessened, keeping the sensors cool and accurate. Because it's solar-powered, there is no backup battery required. These kits are an economical solution for adding the benefits of shielding and/or fan aspiration to your wireless or cabled Vantage Pro2 or Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station. They're very effective in reducing the effects of daytime radiation. Choose your fan-aspirated or passive radiation shield solution from the available Davis Instruments Radiation Shield Kits and contact DX Engineering to order yours... today!

Davis Instruments Repeater Antennas

Davis Instruments repeater antennas will greatly increase the range of your Davis long-range repeater. Available in directional or omnidirectional styles, these antennas are both durable and efficient. Neither repeater antenna will connect to the standard repeater, with its built-in dipole antenna. Yagi antennas are multi-element, high-gain directional antennas. They yield the absolute greatest increase in range, especially when used on both ends of the repeater link. Testing has shown a line-of-sight range of up to 1.9 miles between long-range repeaters equipped with Yagi antennas. For collecting data from multiple sensors in different directions over a given area, you can't beat the omnidirectional antenna. These antennas are a great choice for sensor links, or if the added gain of a Yagi antenna isn't needed. You may want an omnidirectional antenna on the receive side of your repeater and a Yagi on the transmit side to relay the collected sensor data to a distant console/receiver. Contact DX Engineering and get Davis Instruments repeater antennas to enhance the range of your weather data system.

Davis Instruments Solar Power Kits

Davis Instruments solar power kits employ a large solar panel that can power a wireless console or Weather Envoy inside of a weather-resistant shelter. These kits include a 5-watt solar panel, a weather-resistant shelter, a regulator circuit, a 1.4 amp-hour 6-volt rechargeable battery, mounting hardware, and 10 ft. (3 m) of power cable. There is even a kit for the cabled Vantage Pro and Vantage Pro2 weather stations. These heavy-duty solar power kits provide a solar panel and a 12 amp-hour battery with enough power for a cabled console and outdoor sensor suite, Envoy8X, or wireless consoles where more power is needed. There is enough room inside the weather-resistant shelter to mount an Envoy8X or Weather Envoy. When used with a Vantage Vue or Vantage Pro2 console, mount the console inside an optional universal shelter. These heavy-duty kits include a 5-watt solar panel, a weather-resistant shelter, a regulator circuit, a 12 amp-hour 6-volt rechargeable battery, mounting hardware, and a 10 ft. (3 m) power cable. An Extra Solar Panel Kit is used to provide additional charging power to the battery in your solar power kit for installations where sunlight is limited or power requirements are higher. The 5-watt solar panel is mounted on a weather-resistant shelter in which a console or Envoy can be mounted. Included in these kits are a 5-watt solar panel, a weather-resistant shelter, mounting hardware, and a 4 ft. (1.2 m) power cable. If you are adding sensor stations, repeaters, field consoles, Envoys, or other weather equipment to your Davis Instruments weather system, you will want to contact DX Engineering to supply all of your Davis Instruments solar power kits.
