Davis Instruments Anemometers
Davis Instruments Anemometers include both wind speed and wind direction sensors. They have rugged components that stand up to hurricane-force winds, yet are sensitive to the lightest breeze. The wind-speed range and accuracy have been verified in wind tunnel tests at speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour. For areas where icing of the anemometer may be a problem, drip rings to deflect water from the joint between moving parts have been provided. These precision instruments also feature sealed stainless steel ball bearings for long life and they come complete with necessary mounting hardware. Each anemometer includes 40 ft. of cable to connect to your ISS, cabled console, or anemometer/sensor transmitter. When it's time to replace or add an anemometer, remember that these Davis Instruments Anemometers, now available from DX Engineering, will take Fujita-scale winds. Specifications: * Wind speed range: 1 to 200 mph, 1 to 173 knots, 0.5 to 89 m/s, 1 to 322 km/h * Accuracy 5 percent to 200 mph * Resolution 1 mph or 1 knot * Sealed stainless steel ball bearings for long life * Compatible with Cabled Vantage Pro2 or anemometer/sensor transmitter kit

Davis Instruments UV Radiaton Sensors
Davis Instruments UV radiation sensors measure the portion of the UV spectrum to which human skin is sensitive and is known to cause sunburns. These sensors allow you to display the UV index, dose rate, and daily and accumulated doses. A special multi-layer filter provides a UV spectral response that closely matches the Erythema Action Spectrum. An included diffuser provides excellent cosine response, resulting in higher accuracy regardless of the solar angle. Their 2-piece housing minimizes radiation heating, allows for convection cooling of the sensor, and prevents the trapping of water or dust. These sensors include 2 ft. (0.6 m) of cable for mounting to the ISS. To mount one of these UV sensors next to a rain collector, add the Sensor Mounting Shelf (not included). If you or a loved one is sensitive to UV due to nature or prescriptions, or perhaps are a skin-cancer patient, then one of these Davis UV Radiation Sensors, coupled with a Vantage Pro2 weather station, could provide greater value than you might imagine.

Davis Instruments Radiation Shields
Davis Instruments radiation shield kits add an extra level of accuracy to your weather station by reducing the effects of direct and reflected solar radiation. They're a great addition to your Vantage Pro2 or Pro2 Plus weather station. They are also available for Davis Wireless Temperature Stations. These fan-aspirated radiation shields combine active and passive aspiration to minimize the effects of radiation. A solar-powered fan operates during the day and then shuts down at night when the effects of radiation are lessened, keeping the sensors cool and accurate. Because it's solar-powered, there is no backup battery required. These kits are an economical solution for adding the benefits of shielding and/or fan aspiration to your wireless or cabled Vantage Pro2 or Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station. They're very effective in reducing the effects of daytime radiation. Davis Instruments Wireless Repeaters
Davis Instruments wireless repeaters extend the range of your wireless station--for miles on end. In testing, Davis achieved an incredible 4 miles (6.4 km) of transmission distance using two of their long-range repeaters equipped with Yagi antennas. The actual range will vary depending on antenna height, the terrain and foliage, buildings, other manmade structures, and RF interference. Nevertheless, these repeaters are ideal for agricultural use or research applications where long distances are an issue. These solar-powered models include a solar panel and lithium backup battery. Long-range antennas are sold separately. Standard wireless repeaters are ideal for most applications. They use the same dipole antenna found on all of their wireless stations and consoles. Useful range is up to 1,000 ft. (300 m) outdoors, line of sight. Typical range through walls is 200 ft.to 400 ft. (60 to 120 m). AC-powered models include a power adapter. Solar-powered models include the solar panel and a lithium backup battery. Are you not happy with "just" a four mile maximum range? You may daisy-chain the repeaters to further extend your useful range. Since they operate on FHSS and transmit digital data, you may opt to put several repeaters together. These wireless repeaters may be the solution you are looking for when it comes to getting the data home from the field. Order your own weather data solution from DX Engineering and go the distance.

Davis Instruments Repeater Antennas
Davis Instruments repeater antennas will greatly increase the range of your Davis long-range repeater. Available in directional or omnidirectional styles, these antennas are both durable and efficient. Neither repeater antenna will connect to the standard repeater, with its built-in dipole antenna. Yagi antennas are multi-element, high-gain directional antennas. They yield the absolute greatest increase in range, especially when used on both ends of the repeater link. Testing has shown a line-of-sight range of up to 1.9 miles between long-range repeaters equipped with Yagi antennas. For collecting data from multiple sensors in different directions over a given area, you can't beat the omnidirectional antenna. These antennas are a great choice for sensor links, or if the added gain of a Yagi antenna isn't needed. You may want an omnidirectional antenna on the receive side of your repeater and a Yagi on the transmit side to relay the collected sensor data to a distant console/receiver. Contact DX Engineering and get Davis Instruments repeater antennas to enhance the range of your weather data system.
