DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems

Imagine adjusting the controls to knock out strong interfering stations or noise—and then being able to copy and log that weak DX station. By successfully combining the right antennas with the advanced phasing capabilities of the NCC-2, this is the operating thrill that every radio enthusiast can enjoy, again and again! DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems are variable phasing controllers that combine the 300 kHz- 30MHz received signals from one transmit antenna and one receive antenna, or from two dedicated receive antennas. Combining signals from two stationary antennas physically spaced 1/10 to 1/2 wavelength apart creates an array pattern with signal peaks and dips called nulls. Adjusting the NCC-2 Phase and Balance controls have the effect of electronically rotating or steering that pattern. Steering the null direction to significantly weaken a local or distant interfering signal or noise is known as "Noise Cancelling." This "Noise Cancelling Controller" (NCC-2) can dramatically enhance the reception of weak signals from non-null directions. This "reverse-beam" capability on radio frequencies AM Broadcast through HF can provide amazing benefits for many types of AM DX and SWL receiving and ham radio operating. Work new DX, hear the weak station in casual regional conversations, snag the rare multiplier in contests and hear beyond the noise and interference in dire circumstances. DX Engineering NCC-2 Phasing Systems now feature the built-in RTR Receive-Transmit Interface relay system that expands the exciting benefits of antenna phasing for interference reduction in two ways: * First, the NCC-2 can combine signals from the HF transmit antenna and a separate receive antenna to effectively notch-out strong stations or noise. Almost any Amateur can now enjoy the benefits of antenna phasing and noise-nulling, even those with space limitations for separating the receiving and transmitting antennas. * Second, the user of any standard HF transceiver that lacks a separate receive antenna input can have enhanced reception of noise and signal nulling with the DXE-NCC-2 and two antennas. Rear panel SO-239, F and BNC connectors make the NCC-2 extremely versatile and easy to connect to almost any receiver or HF transceiver up to 200 watts. Redesigned with plug-in modular circuit board sockets, the NCC-2 includes one switched and powered internal slot and two passive internal slots per channel to accommodate these new options: * DXE-RPA-2-PM Receive Preamplifier Plug-In Modules (powered): one per channel for low-signal passive antennas with poor ground conditions * DXE-RG5000HD-PM Receiver Guard 5000HD Plug-In Module (passive): Front-end protection for the NCC-2 and the receiver * DXE-IT-PM 75 to 50 ohm Impedance Transformer Plug-In Module (passive): to match 75 ohm RX ANT feedlines to NCC-2 50 ohm internal impedance * NCC-2 Receive Filter Sets (passive, non-switchable): High Pass, Band Pass and Low Pass Filters for 160, 80, 40 meters typically in stock, with other band filters available individually by special order. DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems offer these new additional benefits: * Multi-Color Status Indicating LEDs for Power, RTR Mode and Preamp Power CH A and CH B * New Radio Key Line Input with RX Enable Output-RTR Failsafe to prevent RF damage to NCC-2 and RX equipment * New ACC Key Line Output RCA female 'ground on transmit' pass-through for Amplifier or Accessory * New screw-on 2.1mm DC connector to prevent accidental power cable pull-out * Operates on +13.8VDC @ 2A input to power the NCC-2 and internally jumper set Bias Tee on each RX ANT ports for coax fed Active Verticals and other accessories. DX Engineering TFS4 Series B Transmit Four Square Systems

DX Engineering TFS4 Series B Transmit Four-Square Systems bring together the highest level of engineering excellence with the practical realities of operator convenience and ease of installation. These four-square hybrid systems are available in versions for the 160, 80, and 40 meter bands. They can be easily dropped into your quarter-wave spaced vertical 4-antenna array to provide optimum directional control. They allow the operator to receive or transmit with 5.5 dB gain in any one of four directions with a 20+ dB front-to-back ratio for interference reduction from unwanted directions. You can also switch to a single Omni-directional pattern with a push of a single button. This combination permits you to listen "all-around," unhindered by pattern nulls, and then select the best direction for signal reception and noise rejection. TFS4 Series B Transmit Four Square Systems are designed for use with four monoband vertical antennas placed at the corners of a square that is one-quarter wavelength on a side. The vertical element must be ungrounded and resonant in the desired band, and should be directly base-fed by the coaxial cable phasing lines from the centrally located controller (shunt-fed towers or radiating elements cannot be used). DX Engineering has several vertical antennas that are well suited for this application. Above all, a properly designed and installed radial system is necessary for top antenna performance, whether it's a single vertical or a full array. DX Engineering strongly recommends our optional Q75- series quarter wavelength cables constructed from our own high quality DXE-11U coax. It features a waterproof PE jacket, foam dielectric and has a velocity factor of 82 percent. These cables are electronically pruned to a precise electrical length derived from your choice of center operating frequency, terminated with hand-soldered silver-PTFE PL-259 connectors and weather-sealed with shrinkable tubing. Finally, each cable is tested for high voltage breakdown for maximum reliability and power handling. Since the transmit power is divided by the controller, the coaxial cable can handle QRO power with ease. If you already have a four-square array with a hybrid controller and would like to upgrade to improved performance and the Omni feature, the DX Engineering TFS4 Series B Transmit Four Square Systems are a direct transplant. BCD logic switching allows for the use of a 4-wire control cable to perform the necessary switching functions when powered by the included control console. DX Engineering 450 Ohm Ladder Line

DX Engineering 450 Ohm Ladder Line is a transmitting grade low-loss parallel-wire RF feedline featuring a strong, waterproof, UV black polyethylene insulation. To maintain the wire spacing between the conductors while reducing losses, the integral flat plastic material alternates with rectangular openings, which explains the "Window Line" nickname. Capable of handling over 3 kW of RF power, DXE-LL450 is a very low-loss transmission line across HF. It is ideal for exceptionally long feedline runs and for low band wire antennas operated on multiple bands on which the feedpoint impedance can vary significantly, causing mismatch and elevated SWR. Unlike coaxial cables, DX Engineering DXE-LL450 Ladder Line maintains low RF losses at frequencies where antenna feedpoint impedance mismatches cause high SWR. It can provide significantly higher efficiency than coaxial cable when feeding non-resonant antenna systems that are matched with a wide impedance range antenna tuner. DXE-LL450 450 Ohm Ladder Line is a high-quality flat RF feedline, about 0.938 in. wide (15/16") with two 16-gauge copper-clad steel wire conductors (29 AWG x 19 strands) that provide the strength to hold up for long spans between supports without twisting. It exhibits a nominal impedance of around 400 Ohms and a nominal Velocity Factor of 91 percent. For proper performance, LL450 Ladder Line must be installed suspended through the air supported by insulators every 25 ft. or less, kept at right angles and several inches away from other wires, and at least one foot away when run parallel to the earth or large metal surfaces. Installing with an axial twist of one turn per 10 ft. can reduce wind, rain and ice loading, RF coupling and RF noise. DXE-LL450 can be mounted with insulators and suspended on metal or wood posts or run along a wood fence line, only if the fence has no wires or metal mesh that couples RF noise or unbalances the feedline. Often used for non-resonant wire doublet antennas, DXE-LL450 can be more easily terminated outdoors to a DXE-MC20-C4-1 4:1 Balun or a DXE-MC20-1-1T 1:1 Balun. Then, with no inline switches or relays, directly connect the antenna system to a typical indoor wide range antenna tuner using a solid dielectric coax, not foam dielectric, to handle high voltage at high SWR. DXE-213U or DXE-214 Coaxial Cable Assemblies 12 or 18 ft. with PL-259s are perfect for this method, which eliminates the need for a special balanced tuner, and avoids the losses and detuning effects caused by unbalancing when ladder line is routed indoors near wires and ducts. DXE-LL450 is sold by the foot, previously sold as DXE-LL450-CTL, this is the same ladder line with a new part number. It is also available in spools of 500 ft. DXE-LL450-5C and 1,000 ft. DXE-LL450-1K, which are specified for DX Engineering Reversible Beverage System Antennas. NOTE: This type of feedline is intended for MF and HF use and is not suitable for use above 54 MHz. Also consider DX Engineering 300 Ohm Ladder Line, DXE-LL300, an excellent alternative low-loss HF feed line that reduces impedance extremes on non-resonant HF multiband antenna systems.

DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing Units

DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing Units offer the ultimate performance for combining three identical Yagi or Log Periodic directional antennas and may be used for vertical antennas in a phased array that cover any band, from 160 through 10 meters. Pro-Stack frequency independent broadband phasing devices operate optimally with three properly spaced mono-band antennas, but can be used with three identical stacked multi-band beam antennas, for pattern and null steering that wins contests and snags the rarest DX! Signals arrive at your antenna system from different azimuth directions and different elevation angles. Adding a stacking phasing system to a rotational array adds the ability to steer the pattern of the antenna array in two planes, azimuth and elevation, and to move the major lobe and nulls. The greatest advantage of Pro-Stack arrays is the ability to move harmful pattern nulls away from signal arrival angles. While gain makes a marginal improvement, moving a 20 to 40 dB null can be a phenomenal change, so the Pro-Stack can make the difference between a barely readable and a strong signal, providing the performance edge needed to work rare DX - and win contests. DXE-PS-3B Pro-Stack Phasing Units are 50 ohm relay systems that handle up to 5 kW. A separate user-supplied automated controller or the optional DX Engineering DXE-EC-PS3 Control Console for these 12-position rotary switch selections: - Three antenna ports in phase, default with no power to control console. - Antenna port 1 only - Antenna port 2 only - Antenna port 3 only - Port 2 out of phase, Port 3 in phase - Port 1 out of phase, Port 3 in phase - Port 1 out of phase, Port 2 in phase - Ports 2 and 3 in phase - Ports 1 and 3 in phase - Ports 1 and 2 in phase - Ports 1 and 2 in phase, Port 3 out of phase - Ports 1 and 3 in phase, Port 2 out of phase - Port 1 out of phase, Ports 2 and 3 in phase These PRO-STACK units may also be used for other applications requiring these feedline selections. To ensure lowest SWR, impedance matching automatically changes when any antenna is disabled. By switching between antennas at different heights above ground and/or changing the phase relationship between multiple antennas. The old standard system in stacks was to activate or disable specific antennas in the stack to change pattern. However, with the Pro-Stack system, gain remains higher when all antennas are driven and phase is changed, plus this system allows phase inversion as well as the ability to switch any single antenna out of the array. DXE-PS-3B Broadband Phasing Units provide the greatest flexibility for three identical antennas. This relay unit contains a broad-bandwidth high-power 2:1 impedance matching transformer. This eliminates common requirements of using mixtures of 75 ohm and 50 ohm phasing or delay cables for impedance matching. Feedlines to each antenna from the relay unit must be the same cable of the same length and match the antenna impedance. DXE-PS-3B Pro-Stack Broadband Three Antenna Phasing Units feature: - Power Handling up to 5 kW - Broad band coverage on 160-10 meters - RF Shielded Weatherproof Housing - unique protection - DXE-PS-3B has High-RF tolerant, silver - PTFE UHF connectors - DXE-PS-3BDIN has Amphenol Connex 7/16 DIN Panel Connectors - DXE-PS-3BN-P are made with high-quality silver-PTFE Type N female connectors - Proven high current DX Engineering RF Relays - Safe 12 volt dc relay operation - MOV surge protection on control lines - RoHS compliant assembly Get a DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing System for your winning antenna array.

DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Systems

DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Systems are designed to combine two identical Yagi or log periodic beams, or three quarter-wave vertical antennas, into a phased array for enhanced directional pattern selections and dramatically improved HF operations. There is no need for special coaxial delay lines with the DX Engineering PRO-STACK systems. Just connect your antennas to the system relay unit with equal-length 50-ohm coaxial cable assemblies. The PRO-STACK switch relay units are available with high-quality PTFE-silver plated SO-239, UHF female connectors. The matching PRO-STACK Control Console operates the system with a 1-of-3 source voltage control format at 12-15V DC with a user supplied four conductor control cable to achieve four different antenna phasing selections. PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Systems operate across the 160 to 10 meter range. They have two antenna ports that can be used for any application requiring the four basic selections: 1. BIP - Both antenna ports In-Phase 2. BOP - Both antenna ports Out-of-Phase 3. BOTTOM - Antenna port 1 only 4. TOP - Antenna port 2 only. The unpowered default is 1 - Both ports In-Phase. Impedance matching is automatic in the PRO-STACK even when any antenna port is disconnected. Generally, stacked Yagi antennas are separated vertically with greater than one half wavelength free space. Since the DX Engineering PRO-STACK Antenna Phasing Systems are broadband, they may be easily adapted to larger arrays. For example, four stacked Yagis may be combined by creating two sets of PRO-STACKS, with a third DX Engineering PRO-STACK to combine the first two. PRO-STACK systems may also be used to feed quarter-wave resonant vertical antennas for a high-gain, 4-pattern array. This arrangement requires three verticals, with the center #2 passive antenna element directly grounded to the system ground radial system at all times, while elements #1 and #3 are then fed in various phase relationships by the PRO-STACK. Details are in the complete PRO-STACK PS-2B Instruction Manual linked here in "Documentation" tab. The full- color printed manual is included with the system relay unit. PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Systems are available as separate Relay Units for operators who have automated BCD switching devices, and as packaged systems with Relay Unit and matching manual Control Console. Features of the DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Systems include: * Power handling up to 5 kW * Broadband coverage on 160-10 meters * High impact shielded weatherproof housing * High-RF tolerant, silver-PTFE SO-239 (UHF female) connectors * Proven DX Engineering RF relays for high performance * Safe 12V relay operation * DC-powered control console allows battery or solar emergency operation * MOV surge protection on control lines * External, removable control line connector * RoHS-compliant assembly Dominate the airwaves with DX Engineering PRO-STACK Broadband Antenna Phasing Systems. * Important Note regarding DX Engineering Protection Plans and Kit Combo Contents NOTE: Protection plans cannot be purchased for combination packages or on applicable devices after shipment. DX Engineering Receive Eight Circle Array Controller and Switch Package

DX Engineering Receive Eight Circle Controller and Switch Package, DXE-RCA8C-SYS-2P, is for the array builder who wants to use their own passive receive verticals for a mono-band receive array. The DX Engineering Eight Circle Array will dramatically improve reception of weak distant signals with unparalleled rejection of extraneous signals and noise. This eight-direction switchable array uses a special end-fire/broadside combination of eight short receiving vertical elements. The resulting narrow directional receiving pattern is superior to standard or short Beverage antennas, Reversible Beverage systems and typical two, three or four element arrays. Receive arrays of short vertical elements limit signal and noise for dramatically superior weak signal reception as compared to full size transmitting antennas and arrays. With proper spacing of eight vertical elements, the Receive Eight Circle Array is the ultimate high performance, directional receive antenna for HF Amateur, SWL or AM DXing. DX Engineering Receive Eight Circle Arrays offer directional performance comparable to eight very long phased Beverages, using far less land area. These packages are designed to be used with eight identical, user-supplied, active or passive symmetrically-spaced vertical elements to provide switching for an 8-direction receiving antenna system. Passive elements will generally provide you with a monoband receiving system. With a DX Engineering Active Vertical package you can achieve excellent directional receiving performance over three bands. Click "More Details" below for additional information, features and specifications. The "Documentation" link contains manuals and associated files for complete product installation information. Build an exceptionally effective, electronically rotatable, stationary receive antenna that lets you hear the DX that cannot be heard on a transmit antenna. Dig the weak signals out of the noise with an antenna that can help make your station one of the best. Order the DX Engineering Receive Eight Circle Controller and Switch Package.

DX Engineering DXE-VE-60-2P 60-Meter Monoband Vertical Antennas

DX Engineering DXE-VE-60-2P 60-Meter Monoband Vertical Antennas are high performance, mono-band vertical antenna systems that are easy to assemble, install and adjust. An overall height of about 43 ft. allows these antennas provide full-band 60M coverage with one full quarter wavelength. Since the impedance at resonance of a properly installed quarter wave vertical is less than 50 ohms, the SWR may be optimized with the optional DXE-VMN-1 Matching Network Kit, rather than changing the length in an attempt to find better SWR. Parts included with DXE-VE-60-2P antenna kits are: * DXE-MBVE-5ABASE * DXE-MBVE-5ATOP * DXE-MBVE-5A60MCK (60 meter kit) * Maxi-Core® 20 1:1 Current Choke Balun * DXE-UN-BRKT-5A Balun mounting bracket These ground-mounted antennas will require user-supplied radials, radial plate, radial hardware and ground staples. Radials increase antenna current, sharpen the antenna Q and boost efficiency. Additionally, two DXE-SSVC-2P Saddle clamps are required for antenna mounting. In case you don't want to collect these parts piece meal, all of them are included in the larger DXE-VE-60-2P-RAD 60 Meter Monoband Vertical Antenna kits. The SAF-T-TILT Tilt™ Base, supplied with the DXE-VE-60-2P, allows you to walk the antenna up and down to make tuning changes easily. Designed with 6063 corrosion-resistant aluminum tubing and stainless steel hardware, these antennas are very durable and attractive. With excellent surface appearance, 6063 aluminum alloy is the best alloy for high strength, long-lasting antenna applications. 60 meters is used throughout much of the world as an emergency and search and rescue band. Carrier frequencies from 5.102 through 5.425 MHz are used, with Upper Sideband as the emission mode. Due to limited access and rugged terrain, heavier activity exists in Australia and the State of Alaska. Alaska's emergency channel is 5167.5 USB. Australia has a 60 meter health and welfare net to monitor its citizens traversing the treacherous Outback regions. Amateur Radio operations have also been authorized on 60 meters in many parts of the world. In the USA, five channels are available including 5330.5 kHz, 5346.5 kHz, 5357.0 kHz, 5371.5 kHz, and 5403.5 kHz. These are the frequencies that appear in your transceiver's tuning display when your transceiver is properly set in the USB mode. Note: For additional product information, please look at the files under the "Documentation" tab. CW and digital modes may also be used on 60 meters. That makes 60 meters a worldwide and versatile DX band! Get in on the 60 meter action with a robust quarter wave vertical antenna. Install DX Engineering 60 Meter Monoband Vertical Antennas and see who you can work on 5 MHz!

DX Engineering Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas

DX Engineering Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas (the RSEAV Antennas) offer excellent low noise radio frequency reception from 40 kHz to 30 MHz. Better receiving performance than full-size transmit antennas and other active makes the DXE-RSEAV-1 the best choice on the market for VLF through HF reception, including long-distance AM broadcast, Medium Wave and Shortwave (SWL), and new low-frequency Amateur bands, DXing, contesting, and everyday HF operations. Click on a listed product title and Scroll Down to see additional important information. A complete product description appears below the Specifications Overview. Instruction manual links appear in the Documentation section. The sleek and stealthy DXE-RSEAV-1 includes a high-quality three-section 8.5 ft. (2.6m) aluminum tubing whip, insulated mounting plate and the completely new DXE-AVA-3 Active Matching Unit. Its state-of-the-art broadband operational amplifier design works as a high-impedance buffer between the short antenna element and RG6U 75-ohm coax. When installed in the appropriate location, RSEAV antennas provide significantly better weak signal reception than other active receive antennas and full-size transmit-capable antennas, with substantially reduced noise and lower spurious signal interference. Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas are intended to be mounted on a ground rod at ground level in a clear area away from all metal, towers and other antennas. They are sold individually (DXE-RSEAV-1), or with a bias tee (DXE-RSEAV-1FVI) and DXE-RSEAV-1 Receive Short Element Active Verticals set a new standard for "Active Receive Vertical Antennas" replacing legacy DXE-ARAV-3, ARAV-2, ARAV-1 and AL-24 versions. Use multiple DXE-RSEAV-1 for all 4 and 8 element DX Engineering Receive Arrays – all 3, 4 and 8 element Hi-Z Antennas Arrays – and 2 element receive arrays with DXE-NCC-2 and NCC-1 Variable Phasing Controllers. The DXE-RSEAV-1 is designed to be a very low-gain, low-noise antenna for greatly improved signal-to-noise performance over a very wide range of frequencies. In a proper single or multi-element array installation, this Receive Vertical antenna will attenuate high-angle skywave signals, which is the goal for a low band DXing receive antenna. Low-angle, long-range DX signals are easier to copy with a good radio and DX Engineering Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas. Please Note: To achieve the expected reception pattern, multi-element phased arrays depend upon identical gain and phase response from each element. Every individual element amplifier, its grounding, and even its feedline characteristics and length, must be identical to the others in the array. Therefore, when unrepairable failures occur, it is essential to replace or upgrade all the elements in the array with identical, fully compatible DXE-RSEAV-1 antennas or DXE-AVA-3 units.
