mAT TUNER mAT-1500PROII Automatic Antenna Tuners
mAT TUNER mAT-1500PROII Automatic Antenna Tuners are multi-purpose high power tuners that can match almost any transmitter and amplifier. Providing Frequency coverage from 1.8 to 30MHz and with two antenna outputs, the mAT-1500PROII also provides antenna switching. Depending on how cables are connected, the tuner will operate in three modes: Icom, Yaesu or General, General mode also allows for remote operation of the tuner. The front panel has a 4.3 inch high resolution display that provides information as to the current operating mode, forward power in both PEP and Average power, with a bar scale that can show three ranges: 15W, 150W, and 1500W; in addition to the power output the antenna system SWR is also shown along with current toggleable settings such as antenna output selection, PTT status, which of the four buttons (LUP, LDN,CUP or CDN) was pressed last, and finally the current status of the tuner. The front panel also has 6 additional buttons for controlling if the PTT signal is passed from the tuner to an amplifier (effectively putting the amplifier in bypass), an online button which controls the tuner being in an online or bypass state, a Tune button which starts a tuning cycle when the tuner is in General mode, a range button which changes the displayed scale of the RF indicator on the display, an antenna select button which allows for changing the antenna jack that is used on the tuner, and finally, a power and screen background setting which allows for tuner power to be cycled in General mode as well as the screen brightness and background color to be changed (if the tuner is in Yaesu or Icom mode, the power function of this button is not used.) The rear panel features 3 SO-239 jacks, one for RF In, and two antenna connections. a ground lug and a handful of connection ports for interfacing with the radio. If the user wants the tuner to follow the frequency of the radio with no additional input, the user can connect the appropriate control cable (sold separately) to the radio and the Icom/Kenwood or Yaesu jacks on the back of the tuner. In these modes, the tuner will receive power from the radio and will power up with the radio and not require a dedicated power connection. In general mode, a connection to the DC in jack is required. A PTT in and Out jack both allow for the transceiver to send a PTT signal to the tuner and for the tuner to pass that PTT signal on to the amplifier.
