Telrex® Log Periodic Antennas

Telrex® Log Periodic Antennas are produced exclusively by DX Engineering for a variety of Commercial, Military and Industrial specialized and demanding applications. Telrex® Antennas are engineered using state-of-the-art design methods, are machined with maximum precision, and are manufactured with the finest materials available. Simply stated, Telrex® Antennas fulfill the company philosophy of being "The Best Antenna Available." Telrex® Log Periodic Antennas offer superior gain, high front to back ratios and very low SWR across the entire frequency range of the array. As shown, model TEL-143042-135 antennas are custom designed to cover 14 through 30 MHz, featuring 16 elements on a 42 ft. long, 3 in. diameter extra-heavy duty boom. Multi-dimensional boom support systems secure these rugged LPDAs with RF transparent, 6,700 pound breaking-strength Phillystran™ guy line. Featuring self-supporting large-diameter reinforced elements, these antennas are built to achieve 135 mph wind survivability per the EIA-222-C Specification. All structural parts and elements of these antennas are made from 6061-T6 aluminum and stainless steel. The longest elements of Telrex® model TEL-143042-135 are 36 feet long, and yield a turning radius of approximately 27 feet 8 inches, with a wind load of approximately 22 square feet. These antennas are made to handle 10 kW or more, depending upon the user requirement. The supplied DX Engineering balun will handle 5 kW CW and 10 kW SSB, with higher power baluns available. Performance of TEL-142042-135 antennas includes average free space gain of 7.5 dBi, front-to-back over 25 dB and SWR under 1.5:1 across the entire operating frequency range of 14 through 30 MHz. A 3-inch O.D. mast with a high-end rotator, or a rotating tower, is strongly recommended for the TEL-143042-135; which weighs over 350 pounds.
