Davis Instruments Anemometers

Davis Instruments Anemometers include both wind speed and wind direction sensors. They have rugged components that stand up to hurricane-force winds, yet are sensitive to the lightest breeze. The wind-speed range and accuracy have been verified in wind tunnel tests at speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour. For areas where icing of the anemometer may be a problem, drip rings to deflect water from the joint between moving parts have been provided. These precision instruments also feature sealed stainless steel ball bearings for long life and they come complete with necessary mounting hardware. Each anemometer includes 40 ft. of cable to connect to your ISS, cabled console, or anemometer/sensor transmitter. When it's time to replace or add an anemometer, remember that these Davis Instruments Anemometers, now available from DX Engineering, will take Fujita-scale winds. Specifications: * Wind speed range: 1 to 200 mph, 1 to 173 knots, 0.5 to 89 m/s, 1 to 322 km/h * Accuracy 5 percent to 200 mph * Resolution 1 mph or 1 knot * Sealed stainless steel ball bearings for long life * Compatible with Cabled Vantage Pro2 or anemometer/sensor transmitter kit

Davis Instruments Repeater Antennas

Davis Instruments repeater antennas will greatly increase the range of your Davis long-range repeater. Available in directional or omnidirectional styles, these antennas are both durable and efficient. Neither repeater antenna will connect to the standard repeater, with its built-in dipole antenna. Yagi antennas are multi-element, high-gain directional antennas. They yield the absolute greatest increase in range, especially when used on both ends of the repeater link. Testing has shown a line-of-sight range of up to 1.9 miles between long-range repeaters equipped with Yagi antennas. For collecting data from multiple sensors in different directions over a given area, you can't beat the omnidirectional antenna. These antennas are a great choice for sensor links, or if the added gain of a Yagi antenna isn't needed. You may want an omnidirectional antenna on the receive side of your repeater and a Yagi on the transmit side to relay the collected sensor data to a distant console/receiver. Contact DX Engineering and get Davis Instruments repeater antennas to enhance the range of your weather data system.

Davis Instruments Radiation Shields

Davis Instruments radiation shield kits add an extra level of accuracy to your weather station by reducing the effects of direct and reflected solar radiation. They're a great addition to your Vantage Pro2 or Pro2 Plus weather station. They are also available for Davis Wireless Temperature Stations. These fan-aspirated radiation shields combine active and passive aspiration to minimize the effects of radiation. A solar-powered fan operates during the day and then shuts down at night when the effects of radiation are lessened, keeping the sensors cool and accurate. Because it's solar-powered, there is no backup battery required. These kits are an economical solution for adding the benefits of shielding and/or fan aspiration to your wireless or cabled Vantage Pro2 or Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station. They're very effective in reducing the effects of daytime radiation. Choose your fan-aspirated or passive radiation shield solution from the available Davis Instruments Radiation Shield Kits and contact DX Engineering to order yours... today!

Davis Instruments Solar Radiation Sensors

Davis Instruments solar radiation sensors are for use with Vantage Pro and Vantage Pro2 weather stations. (These sensors are already included with Vantage Pro Plus and Vantage Pro2 Plus weather stations.) Solar radiation sensors measure the intensity of solar radiation and, are required when combined with an anemometer and a temperature and humidity sensor, help you monitor evapotranspiration. Evapotranspiration is a measure of the rate of groundwater loss due to soil evaporation and plant transpiration. These radiation sensors employ diffuser elements and housings that are carefully designed for accuracy and reliability. A silicon photo diode provides a good match to the solar radiation spectrum, permitting accurate response. The two-piece housing minimizes radiation heating and allows for convection cooling of the sensor; preventing the trapping of water or dust. These sensors also include a built-in bubble-level and three feet of cable for connection to an Integrated Sensor Suite. To mount these sensors to an ISS requires an optional Radiation Sensor Mounting Shelf. Track your total sunlight! Make sure that your crops will have enough soil moisture! Estimate how soon your lawn will dry! Order one of these Davis Instruments Solar Radiation Sensors from DX Engineering! Features include: * Photo diode detector provides a good match to the solar spectrum * Suffers minimal radiation heating due to a two-piece housing design * Employs natural convection cooling * Measures total solar radiation (sunlight) * Possesses an accurate cosine response (solar-angle compensation) * Includes three feet of cable for ISS mounting * May be mounted up to 125 ft. from ISS with optional extension cables

Davis Instruments AeroCone Flat Base Rain Collectors

Davis Instruments AeroCone Flat Base Rain Collectors are a tipping spoon-style rain gauge designed to meet the guidelines of the World Meteorological Organization. Constructed of tough, UV-resistant plastics, the body and base of the collector will endure years of trouble-free service and the aerodynamic shape minimizes rainfall catch reduction caused by high winds. Rain enters the collector cone, passes through a debris-filtering screen and collects in one chamber of the tipping spoon. The spoon tips when it has collected 0.01 in. (0.2mm) of rain, which causes a switch to close and brings the second tipping spoon chamber into position. The rainwater then drains out through the screened drains at the base of the collector. The flat base of this rain collector is designed to be installed onto most flat surfaces and features pre-drilled mounting holes and a built-in bubble level to aid with installation. Add a stand-alone rain gauge to an existing Vantage Pro2 or Vantage Vue Sensor Suite with a Sensor Transmitter and WeatherLink Live or use with an EnviroMonitor Node and EnviroMonitor Gateway to extend your weather monitoring capabilities (not included). Includes an attached 40 ft. (12m) Sensor Cable to connect to a Vantage Vue or Vantage Pro2 Sensor Suite, Sensor Transmitter, or EnviroMonitor Node. Additional Features and Information: * Mounting Hardware Included * Packet of 16 3.50 in. (8.89 cm) Bird Spikes Included
