All EZ-BUILD® kits include our lightweight, high strength, UV-protected center-T and end insulators. They feature an exclusive serpentine wire grip for insulated DX Engineering antenna wire and our high strength, high power 300 ohm ladder (window) line. Threading the wire or window line through the center and end insulator openings in a serpentine manner creates a grip that is so strong, the wire ends do not need to be looped, wrapped, or soldered. EZ-BUILD® kits allow for fast and easy field adjustments!
The DX Engineering EZ-BUILD® Center-T includes a centered top 3/8 in. hole for the attachment of an antenna support rope, and the End Insulators accept up to 5/16 in. antenna support rope.
Our EZ-BUILD® kits simplify the construction of your wire antenna, with wire crimp terminals and stainless steel hardware. For a wire antenna, built with a DX Engineering Balun at the feed-point, the coax feedline may be secured with the optional DX Engineering Coax Strain Relief which features an aluminum bracket, neoprene-cushioned P-clamps, and stainless steel hardware. This method supports the feedline without subjecting the balun connector to the strain of the coaxial cable's weight or movement.
DX Engineering EZ-BUILD® UWA Center-T and End Insulator Kits let you create any type of wire antennas, including single-band, multi-band, multi-frequency, folded dipole, doublet and inverted-V, off-center fed, Windom, Zepp, long wires, rhombic, V-beam, or loop antennas.
EZ-BUILD® UWA Center-T may be used as a strain relief for our 300-ohm ladder line at the ground end or house end of the run, or as the strain relief on the feed end of a vertical wire or long wire antenna.
Since soldering is not necessary when building an antenna with this kit, it is perfect for Field Day use, portable operations, or even for the weekend experimenter. However, it is certainly the best choice for your permanent wire antenna system.
This UWA-KIT is for building a wire antenna with any DX Engineering Balun or 300 Ohm Ladder Line.
Use the EZ-BUILD® UWA213-KIT for the construction of an RG-213 or RG-8U coax fed wire antenna without a balun, that will be operated at high power and high duty cycle modes of operation, such as AM, RTTY, or FM. The UWA8X-KIT will handle low and medium power levels and tolerate low SWR levels.
DX Engineering EZ-BUILD® UWA Center-T and End Insulator Kits include:
-- One center-T insulator featuring an exclusive no-loop, no-solder wire, multiple wire, or 300 ohm ladder line serpentine grip design, which allow for the rapid field adjustment of wire lengths; the center-T includes a centered top hole for attaching support ropes
-- Two end insulators featuring the no-loop, no-solder, serpentine grip design
-- Two stainless steel wire connection bolts, nuts, and washers.
-- Six crimp ring terminals for antenna and ladder line wire connections
-- Additional stainless steel hardware for mounting DX Engineering baluns
DX Engineering baluns, antenna wire, 300 ohm ladder line, and support rope are sold separately.
Only your imagination is the limit to the practical applications for which this useful insulator system may be used. It is made from a very strong UV resistant poly-resin plastic that can handle the weight of huge wire antennas, and a DX Engineering balun as well as the attached coaxial cables.
