At the heart of the Charon is a stable 80MHz local oscillator, allowing clean and reliable frequency conversion into the HF spectrum. The built in VOX system automatically switches the unit into transmit mode, while a two color status LED clearly indicates RX or TX state. For operators who prefer manual control, a dedicated PTT jack input is also provided.
Configuration is simple: the necessary parameters for transverter operation can be set directly in the ADALM Pluto software, and the displayed operating frequency remains accurate after conversion. Power is supplied through a standard 12–16VDC input, and the unit uses SMA (female) connectors for both antenna and Pluto RX/TX interfacing.
The Charon HF Transverter is housed in a lightweight, 3D printed PLA enclosure, providing a compact and practical solution that integrates seamlessly into your SDR setup.
