DX Engineering Next Generation Crimp/Solder 8U PL-259 Connectors
DX Engineering proudly announces our new, ultra-high quality, PL-259 connector that is so different from previous designs that we have a Patent**! DX Engineering Next Generation Crimp/Solder 8U UHF Male Connectors are now available to build your custom coaxial cable assemblies. Engineering studies have confirmed that the absolute best RF connections for double-shielded cables like LMR-400 and DXE-400MAX are made by crimping the shield, not soldering. However, most PL-259 crimped center pins aren't large enough and don't have enough contact area, which affects reliability. DX Engineering has solved those issues with these custom-designed connectors that we introduced on DX Engineering DX Series Coaxial Cable Assemblies. These PL-259s have soldered center pins that are full length and full diameter, so they connect properly, even with worn SO-239s. DX Engineering Radial Plates
DX Engineering Radial Plates are made of 304 Stainless Steel, 1/8 inch thick and 11.625 in. x 11.625 in. outside dimensions. They are made with the finest Stainless Steel that will last! Not cheap aluminum that will dissolve in your soil! ".....it is so beautiful, I want to frame it and put it up on the wall - not in the dirt under my vertical. Sebastian - NS0W" Unique enough to be covered by two US Patents, (Pat. No. 6,927,740 and D533,167), the DX Engineering Radial Plate is meant for those of you that have or are building a quarter wave vertical antenna and who want an easy, neat and effective way to connect those essential radial wires and the coax to your vertical antenna for the lowest takeoff angle and strongest signals. Stainless steel construction assures that your signal won't disappear like a disintegrating aluminum radial plate. One OPTIONAL SADDLE CLAMP (SOLD SEPARATELY) IS REQUIRED to mount the DX Engineering Radial Plate to a ground mounted antenna support pipe, also sold separately. For STEEL pipe from 1 to 2 in. O.D. the all-Stainless Steel DXE-SSVC-2P is the REQUIRED clamp, sold separately. For STEEL pipe from 2 to 3 in. O.D. the all-Stainless Steel DXE-SSVC-3P is the REQUIRED clamp, sold separately. For pipe or rod whose O.D. is between 0.50 in. and 1.75 in. the DXE-CAVS-11P V-saddle clamp is the REQUIRED clamp, sold separately. For aluminum tubing from 1 in.to 2 in. O.D., the DXE-CAVS-2P V-saddle clamp is the REQUIRED clamp, sold separately. This plate will work perfectly with most commercially available vertical antennas such as the Hustler BTV series (4BTV thru the 6BTV), the SteppIR (BiggIR or SmallIR) or an antenna of your own construction. When used with the Hy-Gain AV-18HT Hy-Tower antenna, the radial plate will sit on the concrete under the base plate and will fit within the three concrete-mounted base/insulator pipes. The DX Engineering Radial Plate has a number of advantages over the other plates on the market: First, the DX Engineering Radial Plate will attach easily and rigidly to a 4x4 or 6x6 wooden post using simple wood screws, or to a steel or aluminum pipe (up to 3.0 in. outside diameter) using an OPTIONAL SADDLE CLAMP, SOLD SEPARATELY, to attach to whatever you have supporting your vertical. Size and clamp selection is detailed above. Second, this plate actually has a place where you can attach your coax! What a concept! The plate assembly has been drilled for optional SO-239 Chassis Mount and Bulkhead Fittings. This is a MUST item for proper handling of RF ground current! Regardless of how you do it, it is imperative that your coax be grounded to the radials to complete the circuit for your radial current. Third, the DX Engineering Radial Plate is laser cut from tough stainless steel so that it has smooth edges, won't corrode and will always look good. You will be proud of how good your installation looks. Fourth, it is square. Why? Because a square has more lineal distance around it than the round plates that you usually see. This allowed us to put 60 holes in it, use larger bolts for more clamping power and still not crowd them together. Remember: The more current that flows in through your radials and through this plate, the stronger your signal is going to be and the more DX stations that you are going to hear. So, put on as many radials as you can. Fifth, we supply the correct Stainless Steel bolts, nuts, star washers, flat washers and lock washers to attach the radials. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. For the absolutely finest made radial plate available, order DX Engineering Radial Plates. Suggested as a station upgrade product - make more contacts to worldwide DX stations and DXpeditions

DX Engineering Utility Enclosure Kits
DX Engineering Utility Enclosure Kits are ideal for the outdoor mounting of many types of lightning protectors or other equipment. This enclosure and grounding plate kit accommodates coaxial protectors with a flange mount or bracket so connectors are parallel with the grounding plate. (Bulkhead protectors that mount the connector through a grounding panel cannot be used.) DX Engineering DXE-UE-2P Utility Enclosure kits are manufactured from weather-resistant, high-impact thermoplastic material that protects the inside components against rain and directed water spray. The housing and wire entrance grommet materials used in the enclosure are fire-retardant and UV-stabilized and resist degradation from weathering, environmental contaminants, chemical fertilizers, and insecticide sprays. The exterior of the housing may be painted with latex or oil base paints if needed to help blend into the location. Because these kits have many potential applications, no holes have been drilled in the enclosure. However, mounting holes have been pre-drilled in the aluminum mounting plate. Four of the six sheet metal screws are included to secure the mounting plate to the enclosure; the other two sheet metal screws are for mounting the copper strap clamp to the mounting plate. Watertight feedthrough couplers mount to the top of the enclosure; drilling or cutting with a hole saw is required. Eleven port openings exist in the bottom--two are large for conduit coaxial entry/exit, and nine are smaller for coaxial cable, rotor cable, Telco lines, and more. All openings are sealed by a weathertight foam insert. NOTE: The DXE-UE-2P accommodates coaxial protectors that have a Flange Mount bracket, or those that work with an accessory bracket, to mount the connectors parallel with the grounding plate. DX Engineering Premium Antenna Wire
DX Engineering Premium Antenna Wire helps you achieve top performance and long, trouble-free operation at a very reasonable cost. This PVC-insulated 14 AWG stranded copper wire is comprised of 19 strands of 27 AWG solid copper. Its relaxed PVC insulation is UV-resistant and rolls out easily, unlike wire that is commonly available at "big-box" stores, which coils and kinks. Our antenna wire is well worth its price for its features, especially for ease in handling. Over a decade of successful wire antenna installations have proven this insulated copper wire is up to the task. Conservatively rated at 92.5 lbs. breaking strength, this wire is strong enough for virtually every wire antenna application. Suggested installation includes supporting the feedpoint to properly handle the weight of the feedline, and balun if used, so that the wires only need to support themselves. When placed under extreme stress, this copper wire will stretch before breaking, allowing it to serve in a longer lasting installation for wire antennas of almost any style. Available in several pre-cut coiled lengths as well as on 500 and 1,000 ft. rolls, UV-resistant black insulated 14 AWG stranded copper DX Engineering Antenna Wire lasts longer than bare wire exposed to the elements. Use it with confidence for your wire antenna projects and get on the air!

DX Engineering ISO-PLUS Ethernet RF Filters
DX Engineering ISO-PLUS Ethernet RF Filters are very effective EMI Suppressors that are quickly and easily connected inline on Cat5e or Cat6 network cables. Their patented* design provides common mode RF interference and EMI noise filtering of radio frequencies from well below 1 MHz to 100 MHz and beyond. DX Engineering ISO-PLUS Ethernet RF Filters have no effect on throughput; Ethernet data signal levels and speed remain unchanged. *US Patent No. 11,211,679 B2 Electromagnetic interference (EMI), also known as RF interference (RFI), can be imposed onto your received radio and data signals from many electronic devices normally found around a residence, a radio room or a business network. Areas of major concern are the Gigabit Ethernet Cat5(e) and Cat6 cables used for network (LAN) connections between personal computers, printers, multi-port switches, cable modems, routers and radio transceivers, and between many other devices. DX Engineering ISO-PLUS RF filters, installed on both ends of Ethernet cables, work two ways. First, they can mitigate RF interference caused to the Ethernet connected device. Second, they can reduce interference to radio receivers and other Ethernet devices that is caused by RFI or EMI generated by an Ethernet connected device. ISO-PLUS filters are sold in pairs and are normally installed at each end of an Ethernet cable; one filter at the RJ-45 Ethernet plug of the first device and the other filter at the RJ-45 Ethernet plug of the second device. Each ISO-Plus comes with one six inch shielded RJ-45 patch cable (color may vary). They are designed to be installed in pairs; offered in a 2 filter package DXE-ISO-PLUS-2 or a 10 filter package DXE-ISO-PLUS-10. Click "More Details" below for additional information. DX Engineering ISO-PLUS Ethernet RF Filters are an important tool to improve productivity and radio reception of weak signals. "If you can't hear them, you can't work them." Each plate is approximately 3-1/4 in. wide x 4-3/16 in. tall - Stainless Steel hardware is included: Four 1/4 in.-20 x 3/4 in. long hex head bolts, eight 1/4 in. flat washers, four 1/4 in.-20 Nyloc hex nuts - Using this copper clamp is faster and easier than building up the joint for an exothermic weld The DXE-UCGC-Z can easily mount up to six lightning protectors. The photo shows two DX Engineering and two PolyPhaser lightning protectors installed on a DXE-UCGC-Z mounted to a 5/8 in. diameter ground rod. Other lightning protection products can also be mounted, such as the DXE-IS-RCT Control Line Protector and Alpha Delta Lightning Protectors. Additionally, a solid copper strap from the station grounding bus bar may also be sandwiched between the copper plates of this clamp and the ground rod (not shown). An anti-seize compound such as JTL-12555 Jet Lube SS-30 Pure Copper Anti-Seize must be used on the threads to prevent galling or seizing of stainless steel hardware. All connections must be generously coated with a conductive joint compound to prevent moisture penetration and enhance conductivity. Properly weatherproofing coaxial cables and lightning protectors is important to ensure the longevity of the connection and maintain optimal performance. Prior to attaching the lightning protectors, install the coaxial cables to the lightning protectors and weather seal the PL-259 connectors using TES-2155 Temflex Rubber Sealing Tape with an overwrap of TES-06132 3M Super 33+ Vinyl Tape or 3M Scotch Super 88 Premium Vinyl Tape (TES-06143). These easily removable connector sealing tapes are now available in kits. The lightning protector bodies are not weatherproof and it is suggested to use a DX Engineering Weatherproofing Kits to permanently cover the body of the protectors. Some users have also suggested covering the entire assembly with a plastic food container or plastic trash bin As with all electronic equipment, take proper safety considerations. For example: Do not install if there is a storm anywhere in your area. Do not adjust or touch the grounding system equipment when there is a storm anywhere in your area. Make sure all power is removed before making any adjustments or working on any ground system or grounding components. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. DX Engineering Transceiver Amplifier Keying Cables
DX Engineering Transceiver Amplifier Keying Cables connect the "ground on transmit" or contact closure provided by the radio that is required to make an HF amplifier switch from "receive mode" to "transmit and amplify mode" when using PTT (push-to-talk), VOX or break-in CW keying. DX Engineering Transceiver Amplifier Keying Cables are made for specific transceiver models that have special DIN or mini-DIN connector accessory ports which provide the transceiver's only connections for linear amplifier keying. One type of amplifier keying cable has one RCA phono plug for the amplifier relay jack, which is all that is needed. When the transceiver PTT (push-to-talk) is keyed, the RCA plug center pin is connected to the shield (and chassis ground in most cases) to key the amp relay or its solid state keying circuit. Instead of a direct connection to the amp relay, the RCA plug may be connected to the keying input of an accessory device (DXE-KEYLINE-3, DXE-RTR-2 or DXE-NCC-2), amplifier keying interface (DXE-SV-KR or legacy Ameritron ARB-704 or KD9SV Products SV-KR) or other amp keying line interrupt device, such as a meter or an array controller. Each has a keying input and a keying output for the amplifier relay or another accessory. Another type of amplifier keying cable has two RCA phono plugs, one RED plug for the amplifier relay jack and one WHITE plug for ALC (Automatic Level Control) voltage from the amplifier. The legacy ALC connection does not need to be used with present era solid state transceivers and most modern amplifiers. ALC was required for use on transmitters with tube finals. Some modern amplifiers do not have an ALC output connector. If the amplifier does not have ALC it is okay to leave the WHITE plug disconnected. Order your DX Engineering Transceiver Amplifier Keying Cables to connect to your transceiver accessory port for keying amplifiers, sequencers, receive-transmit interfaces, buffer relays, and other accessories. NOTE: To enable the function of this keying cable, some late model Kenwood transceivers require menu activation of the amplifier keying circuit.

DX Engineering Lightning Rod Mast Mounts
The use of DX Engineering Lightning Rod Mast Mounts could protect your tower, antennas and station equipment from disastrous lightning damage. DX Engineering Lightning Rod Mast Mounts are 1/8 in. heavy-duty stainless steel clamps that will long outlast your steel tower. Their optional bolts (choose DXE-LRMM-FAST by combined mast and lightning rod diameters) are also high-quality stainless steel. Together, they are extremely durable clamps to keep your lightning rod in place. Lightning searches out the path of least resistance to ground. If that path is your tower, rotator and rotor bearings, antennas and coax, or the ground and electrical connections to your rigs, then that's where it will go. Providing a better path (one with very little resistance) is the key to keeping lightning outside the shack and limiting damage. When used with proper tower grounding, a heavy rotor-bearing bypass cable and installed coaxial surge protectors, a lightning rod above your antennas may save the day. Don't ignore proper grounding and lightning protection! Make a list of all the items you need to upgrade your station's lightning defense. Make sure a mast mounted lightning rod and DX Engineering Lightning Rod Mast Mounts are added to your list.

DX Engineering Coax Cable Stripping Tools
DX Engineering Coax Cable Stripping Tools provide an easy way to prepare your 50 ohm coax cable for the installation of solder-type PL-259 (UHF-male) and 2-piece solder-type "N" connectors. These handy coax cable strippers work on foam or solid dielectric cables with a precision, 2-step operation. DX Engineering strippers are made with premium, long-lasting, tool-steel cutter blades for clean coaxial cable preparation. These cable stripping tools are intended to be used ONLY on PVC and PE jacketed coaxial cables, not ultra-flex soft rubber-like Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) jacket. Use our red DXE-UT-8213 Coax Cable Stripper for 0.405 in. OD cables. The following cables have been successfully stripped using the superior tool steel cutting blades of our DXE-UT-8213: * DXE-213U * DXE-8U * DXE-11U * Belden 8213 RG11/U * Belden 8214 RG-8 foam * Belden RG-213/U * Belden 8237 RG-8/U * Belden 8267** **Belden 8267 and Belden 9913F7: Some cable labeled as Belden 9913F7 (and also Belden 8267) which has a very "squirmy" jacket and is easy to bend into all shapes without rebounding has proven very challenging to strip easily. The jacket material seems different than the Belden (9913F7 and 8267) samples we had on hand from earlier lots that were used to test the DXE-UT-8213. Belden was contacted concerning this and a sample of the suspect 9913F7 was sent for testing. Belden informed us this was their cable (not a suspected counterfeit) and this is a known tolerance in their manufacturing process of this type coaxial cable jacket. Therefore, the DXE-UT-8213 may or may not work properly with some Belden 9913F7 or Belden 8267. Times Microwave LMR-400UF Ultra-Flex has a similar rubbery, thermoplastic jacket that which CANNOT be stripped by this type of cutter. The new purple UT-8213LR Coax Cable Stripping Tools have been designed to properly prepare RG-213 and 8U sized, 0.405 in. coaxial cables for silver-plated solder-type PL-259 connectors (like DXE-PL259-6). These preparation tools will allow you to strip the coaxial cable with special dimensions to facilitate a unique method of soldering the shield to the back of the connector, proven at the K3LR world-wide contest station. DXE-UT-8213 cutter blades are designed to cut through the more rigid materials encountered with high quality coaxial cables with an OD of 0.405 in with PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and PE (polyethylene) jackets. Our green DXE-UT-808X prepares smaller coaxial cables such as DXE-8X and Mini 8. They have been designed and manufactured to properly prepare coaxial cable for use with DXE-PL259, PL-259 Silver Plated, PTFE Insulation PL-259 connectors and associated reducers, or the DXE-N1001-S Type-N Male Silver Plated, PTFE Insulation two-piece Type-N connector (requires a slight additional trimming of the cable center conductor length) and reducers. DXE-UT-808X has been tested with: * DXE-8X * Belden 9258 RG-8/X These cable strippers are NOT intended for use with look-alike RG-8X cables with soft, rubbery, 'squirmy' outer jackets. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. The best way to install solder connectors on your coaxial cables is to prep them the easy way: with DX Engineering Coax Cable Stripping Tools!

DX Engineering Tilt Base Antenna Mounting Systems
The patented* DX Engineering Tilt Base Antenna Mounting Systems enable an operator to raise or lower an antenna in seconds, while leaving the base of the antenna securely attached to the mounting plate and post. DX Engineering Tilt Bases make it easy to tune your vertical, repair, or simply lower your antenna to a safe horizontal position long before bad weather hits. One person can install, raise and lower, and service their vertical antenna with our stainless steel Tilt Base; just walk it up or down. The Tilt Base prevents potential accidents when climbing a step ladder to tune the antenna, especially on soft ground. This is an essential tool that has helped countless hams eliminate the possibility of personal injury and damage to their ground-mounted vertical antenna. There is no need to remove brackets from the support posts and you will never again have to lift the entire weight of the antenna in order to tilt it down or tilt it up. Nearly two decades of customer comments about DX Engineering Tilt Bases (and the Radial Plate) have included "it's a work of mechanical art" and another exclaimed "...it's so gorgeous I don't want to mount it outside, I want to hang it on the wall!" Year after year, users are thankful for the amazing ease of the Lift, Slide and Tilt action of this antenna mount for making antenna adjustments simple. Recently, DX Engineering customer Michael, KO4VVH, said "I wondered why this bracket had a cost over $60, but when it arrived today I was blown away. Heavy duty doesn't do this beast justice. Heavy plate stainless steel and it is one of the best mounts I've ever owned. It's big and heavy... Ultra heavy duty. I will mount it up to my Hustler 5BTV HF antenna so I can drop it to ground level for maintenance, adjustments and SWR tweaks. Thank you!" Precision-cut from 3/16 in. 304 stainless steel, these Tilt Base Antenna Mounts are virtually indestructible. They conveniently mount to the same ground pipe or tubing that you use for the antenna and Radial Plate. You could use lag screws or carriage bolts to mount the Tilt Base and the Radial Plate to a wood post, but typically they are securely mounted to a 2 in. max. OD pipe using optional SSVC-2P saddle clamps, displayed in "Required Parts". There are five versions of the DX Engineering Tilt Base Antenna Mounting Systems kit designed for a variety of HF antenna types: DXE-TB-3P: Specifically designed with included stainless steel hardware to mate with the antenna mounting bracket of the Hustler 4, 5 or 6 BTV vertical antennas. DXE-TB-4P: This Tilt Base model provides a mounting plate and clamps for tilting a customer supplied antenna support mast up to 1.75 in. OD and 10 ft. tall, for mounting elevated no-radial vertical antennas that weigh less than or equal to 20 pounds, and have a height of no more than 28 ft. The Vertical antennas and mast assemblies must be adequately guyed. Precautions must be taken when raising or lowering to avoid undue lateral stress on the tilt mechanism. The TB-4P is the tilt option for legacy DX Engineering vertical antenna models DXE-30VE-1, DXE-40-VE-1 and DXE-40VA-1. See the DXE-TB-7P below for the replacement COM-30VA and COM-40VA Monoband Vertical Antennas. DXE-TB-6P: Is specifically designed to mate to the antenna mounting bracket of the Hy-Gain AV-14AVQ (HGN-AV-14AVQ). This special tilt base mounting system includes stainless steel hardware that allows the AV-14AVQ to be closer to ground level for maximum performance. DXE-TB-7P: Is specifically designed to mate to the COMTEK 30 Meter (COM-30VA) and 40 Meter (COM-40VA) Vertical Antennas. DXE-TB-8P: Is specifically designed to mate to the COMTEK 20 Meter Vertical Antennas (COM-20VA) which may be tuned to resonate on one band, 20, 17, 15, 12, or 10 meters.
